A stalking plague falls upon the sleepy town. Residents of a once a bustling burrow of rabbits now lock their doors soon as the sun sets over the mountains in fear of the shadow lurking down every barren alleyway. Hunger pains, yet it does not seek the flesh of these creature. It hunts each night - a restless search for the item able to free it from this place. Anger and fear rule its mind, teeth flared at any and all who answer their pleas incorrectly. Confusion replaces the fear dread in the hearts of its victims at the accusations of theft. Regardless, the beast points their claws at whomever crosses their path til what they have lost is rightfully returned.

"Give it back...."

"This what you're lookin' for?"

A chain dangles freely from the rabbit's finger - moonlight bouncing off the blood red gem tailored to the sliver band attached to the end of the chain. There's something odd about this rabbit. Why does this one smell so... familiar?

The barn.

Your sanctuary from the raging storm has been the crux of all your troubles from the very beginning. This rabbit must be is caretaker then. You've seen him in passing, but had no interest in him besides his herd so you never paid much attention to the details. One that goes without saying is how large the man is. Your tail gives you leverage now, but if you don't get your ring back soon then surely-

"It's rude to keep what isn't yours. Give it to me."

"Hey, now- I found this on my property fair and square. I even waited the first couple of nights for you to come back, but you never showed. I was starting to worry I'd never see you again."

Does he enjoy the sound of his own voice? Something catches your eye over the rabbit's shoulder. A glimmer of yellow breaking over the horizon. Panic sets in as a tingle runs through the nerves of your tail. It won't be long now. You needed to act fast. The rabbit looked to be aware of your peril as he takes several steps back into the growing sunlight. Your hand recoils as it creeps towards you.

"Been watching you for a long time now. Long enough to know a small bit about this whole... situation you got going on. I'll give you this ring back - for a price.~"

He's stalling. Sunlight blinds your sight as that accursed ball of light peeks over the buildings. Your body slowly begins to shrink - tail splitting in two as you topple over from the sudden shift in your shape. You crash to the ground - the bulk of your scales receding into your all too human flesh as you land. The rabbit whistles, turning a bashful eye away from your nude figure.

"If humiliating me is what you wanted, I'd say you got what you wished. Can I have my ring back now?"

A curse passed down generation by generation. By night, you are your true self. By day, you are forced to walk this earth on two legs like the rest of animal kin. The disadvantage it puts you at is steep. Smaller, weaker, pitiful. That ring has the power to return you to your proper state even now. You have to get it back.

The rabbit appears offended by your words.

"Humiliate you? Now why on earth would I want to humiliate my wife? You'll get this ring back on our wedding day. I'd love to get you something flashy myself, but it's nicer to keep things in the family. Sooner we get married, sooner you get this back - got it?."

He.... can't be serious. You still return to your true form by sunset. You may be able to overpower him then. As things stood now, you had no chance. Not only was he bigger than you, but in the scarce chance you obtain the upper hand now the town's people are sure to come to his rescue before you can grab what's yours and flee.

"Alright. I will become your wife in exchange for what's mine."

The rabbit grins. "That's the spirit. Name's Fletcher by the way, but most folks call me Fetch. Thought you might like to know since we'll be stuck together from now on."

Fletcher pulls something from his shoulders as he approaches. A fuzzy blanket which he drapes around you as he lifts you off the cold ground. The bastard really has been watching you- Shuddering from the cold, you seek the warmth from his fur as you place your head to his chest - heart beat gone sporadic as you nestle your face deeper into the fluff. If you are to be stuck with him for now, it's better to play along than give away your true intentions so soon.

"Heh, let's get you home before you freeze out here. I'll make you something to eat and we'll get to know each other better before we start planning our special day."

That sounds.... pleasant. The food that is. You can't recall the last time you'd eaten. Hooking your arms around the rabbits neck, he carries you off in the direction of his home as the sleepy town you once terrorized wakes once more.

31st March 1652 saw the Honours of Scotland saved from Cromwell's forces at Dunnottar Castle.

In 1651, during Cromwell’s occupation of Scotland after his victory at Dunbar in 1650, our crown jewels The Honours of Scotland were spirited from there and used at the coronation at Scone of Charles II as King of Scots. From there they were taken for safekeeping to Dunnottar Castle. It was on March 31st when Cromwell’s troops laid siege to the castle this story happened.

The Honours of Scotland were made up of the crown, the sceptre, and the sword of state. The gold crown, decorated with gems and pearls, was made from Scottish gold, and the sceptre was a gift from Pope Alexander VI to James IV, while the sword was also a papal gift to James IV, presented by Pope Julius II. The regalia were used for the coronation of Scottish monarchs from Mary Queen of Scots in 1543 until Charles II in 1651.

The story began in 1651, following the crowning of Charles II at Scone, in Perthshire. 38 kings of Scots had been inaugurated and crowned at Scone, on top of Moot Hill, but Charles II was to be the last. Oliver Cromwell’s army by this time were marching through the Lothians, near Edinburgh, and were intent on capturing the crown jewels and destroying them, just as they had done to the English crown jewels.

The Honours and some Royal papers were brought to Dunnottar Castle for safe keeping by Katherine Drummond, hidden in sacks of wool. Sir George Ogilvie of Barras was appointed lieutenant-governor of the castle, and given responsibility for its defence. By November 1651, they were being besieged by Cromwell’s army and it was obvious to the small garrison that the castle would be captured sooner or later.

Elizabeth Douglas, wife of Sir George Ogilvie, and Christian Fletcher, wife of James Granger, minister of Kinneff Parish Church hatched a plan that saved the royal regalia. Firstly, the king's papers were removed from the castle by Anne Lindsay, a kinswoman of Elizabeth Douglas, who walked through the besieging force with the papers sewn into her clothes. Then over the course of three visits to the castle, Christian Fletcher carried away the crown, sceptre, sword and sword-case hidden amongst sacks of goods. Fletcher and her husband then buried them under the floor of Kinneff Parish Church.

For eight years the Honours were kept at the church in secret, with Cromwell scouring the country and believing the rumours that the jewels may have been smuggled abroad. Once every three months the Regalia were dug up at night to be aired before a fire and preserved from damp and injury. Wrapped in fresh cloths, they were buried again.

At last, during the Restoration of Charles II in 1660, the honours were removed from Kinneff Church and returned to the king. Christian Fletcher was awarded 2,000 merks by Parliament as a reward for saving the Honours. Parliament noted that the award was “because she was most active in conveying the royal honours…out of the castle…and that by her care the same was hid and preserved.” However, the sum was never paid!

Before anything, read the rules.

This isn’t much much of a serious AU, just a prompt that the Class of Villains AU (by @artzychic27 , @msweebyness and @imsparky2002) inspired me to do.

 In this AU, all Miraculous Class characters are inspired by Cartoon Characters, who are there to learn how to control their unique powers.

 (Also, small warning: Cartoon Characters that are animals, in this AU, would be anthropomorphic people, like in Ever After High).

Marinette Rox (Roxy/Winx Club): Marinette used to be the last fairy on Earth. After saving her people, she decided to learn how to be a True Fairy in Alfea, but, she suffered a lot of bullying, and decided to change Schools.

Adrien Butterfly (Star Butterfly): A prince from another dimension that is learning magic and how to interact with people (he would have paw cheekmarks).

Alya Noceda (The Owl House/Luz Noceda): A powerful Witch girl who is also training magic.

Nino Boonchoy (Anne Boonchoy/Amphibia): A boy that ended up on the school after opening a mysterious music box he was planning to use in a remix. It’s trying to get back home with the help of the magic trio (Mari, Adrien and Alya).

It is Bo Burnham's 33rd birthday today! 🥳

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BO! You've got seven more years to go per your last birthday song haha 😉

It is also my last day in my intensive therapy program. I feel SO much lighter and happier than when I started. I never thought it was possible! 🥰

I just wanted to again thank everyone who's supported me through the HARDEST month of my entire life.

The combination of being suicidal and then my ex asking for divorce on July 26th—one day after I was admitted to the psych ward—felt like the world was collapsing around me.

But I found the strength to open up during group sessions (EVERYONE at the hospital knew I love Bo's stuff haha), and some very special people there gave me the courage to go on living. Thank you, Alexia, for playing Bo's music in the gym and Donte for giving me a soft fleece blanket (the sheets were SO itchy) so I could finally sleep again.

Special shout-out to my sister. Jill has been there for me since we were kids (she's 4 years younger than me), and we've weathered the same shit from our awful parents and both have complex trauma because of it. I'm more sensitive than her in general and internalize things, but she sent me two videos that changed my whole perspective.

The first was Brent Charleton and his chart of the Ego States. This helped me reconfigure how my thinking was constantly making things worse in life. I'm basically a teenager learning to be an adult in my mind, and that is OKAY. I am learning to heal my wounded inner child, and she is thankful for the emotional support when she had none from her narcissistic mother and enabling father growing up.

The second was Tim Fletcher's series on shame. This is incredibly hard to watch (I recommend taking as many breaks as you need), but I promise you it gets SO much better when you let go of shame. All shame does is make us feel miserable...it is SO not worth it to live that way!

A fishing town has been abuzz with tourism since an array of strange events— whispers of the drowned can be heard in the rain, strange and horrible looking fish caught by local anglers, inhuman shapes beneath the water, and ethereal looking ships with fog clinging to their broken hulls….

Enter,

Fletcher Ferran, who knows the truth— that his town’s beaches, coves, caves and seas are home to various towns and a city of deep sea denizens—

Occupying the beach and the caves beneath, Crab Folk of Astrostacia, who bravely defend their ever-changing leader from poachers.

The last Siren Circle of Atlantis have taken refuge in the depths of Black Eye Cave, since ousted by the kingdom’s new ruler.

Not to mention the Troll Shark Market, and its bustling gambling culture for food and treasure, unknowingly spreading cursed loot across the sea.

To aid in their fight against poachers hired by the town’s local government, crazed deep sea villains, and cursed creatures from unknown reaches, Fletcher dons a suit and helm as …

THE DEEP SEA DIVER!!

As the Diver, he has two power sets—

Through his father’s notes on the subject, Fletcher learned the magic of GEM INLAY , which involves fusing gems to your “soul”, granting magical benefits. For a DIY of a usually dangerous magic art …. He honestly did pretty good. The Ruby Eye he now has provides him with a general Danger Sense (Spider (Crab) Sense), and a natural resilience from magic.

And , when hitting his second year as The Diver, Fletcher’s body became strong enough to withstand a power inherited from his mother’s side of the family—

His mother was a Poly Cephaguildae, a type of merfolk that made the depths of the Southern Indian Ocean their home, right off the coast of Antartica. They made the glacier their home, fighting horrors that escapes from a gate frozen in the glaciers.

Fletcher has managed to manifest his mother’s mixture of animals into a COASTAL POLYMORPH, using it to pull himself around, manipulate his environment, and more. They’ve been able to remove their hand for it to turn into a little crab minion, and his tongue often turns into an eel to steal his food.

Regardless, it is an incredible ability that Fletcher uses to help cover his identity if his suit ends up damaged, or their mask is lost!

And that’s Fletcher!

I feel like giving him more powers as he develops, I roleplay if people are interested in interacting with him to help me flesh the character out. ✨🐡

When reading Jon XII, the NW getting what little belongings the Freefolk had in terms of their 'wealth' as a toll to let them this side of the Wall did come across as a necessary evil. These people are fleeing the Others, wights and army of the dead and are fighting for survival with no other option. We only see it from Jon's POV and he sees it as a necessity to feed everyone amongst the grumblings and complains of his men. And yet...

“Mance should have killed you when he had the chance,” he said as he did his best to turn Jon’s hand to pulp and bone. “Gold for gruel, and boys … a cruel price. Whatever happened to that sweet lad I knew?” - Jon, ADwD

Two stewards counted the boys as they went by, noting each name on long sheepskin scrolls. A third collected their valuables for the toll and wrote that down as well.

As they passed, each warrior stripped off his treasures and tossed them into one of the carts that the stewards had placed before the gate. Amber pendants, golden torques, jeweled daggers, silver brooches set with gem-stones, bracelets, rings, niello cups and golden goblets, warhorns and drinking horns, a green jade comb, a necklace of freshwater pearls … all yielded up and noted down by Bowen Marsh. One man surrendered a shirt of silver scales that had surely been made for some great lord. Another produced a broken sword with three sapphires in the hilt.

And there were queerer things: a toy mammoth made of actual mammoth hair, an ivory phallus, a helm made from a unicorn’s head, complete with horn. How much food such things would buy in the Free Cities, Jon Snow could not begin to say. -  Jon, ADwD

And then I am listening to an ACoK Tyrion chapter and he is informed that Cersei has been trying to build up KL’s defenses (Similar to Jon Snow trying to rebuild the castles and shore up the Wall defenses) by using a tax that Littlefinger levies on people fleeing war.

“And what has my good sister done about this?”

“She is taking steps to restore the king’s peace,” Vylarr assured him. “Lord Slynt has tripled the size of the City Watch, and the queen has put a thousand craftsmen to work on our defenses. The stonemasons are strengthening the walls, carpenters are building scorpions and catapults by the hundred, fletchers are making arrows, the smiths are forging blades, and the Alchemists’ Guild has pledged ten thousand jars of wildfire.”

Tyrion shifted uncomfortably in his saddle. He was pleased that Cersei had not been idle, but wildfire was treacherous stuff, and ten thousand jars were enough to turn all of King’s Landing into cinders.

“Where has my sister found the coin to pay for all of this?” It was no secret that King Robert had left the crown vastly in debt, and alchemists were seldom mistaken for altruists.

“Lord Littlefinger always finds a way, my lord. He has imposed a tax on those wishing to enter the city.”

“Yes, that would work,” Tyrion said, thinking, Clever. Clever and cruel. Tens of thousands had fled the fighting for the supposed safety of King’s Landing. He had seen them on the kingsroad, troupes of mothers and children and anxious fathers who had gazed on his horses and wagons with covetous eyes. Once they reached the city they would doubtless pay over all they had to put those high comforting walls between them and the war . . .

Just thought it was an interesting parallel between a policy decision that both Jon Snow and Littefinger/Cersei make (though with the key difference being that Jon is doing it to pay for much needed food to feed everyone and Cersei is doing it for the expensive Wildfire from the alchemists) and which Tyrion deems to be cruel on a population fleeing war with what little they have - similar to the Freefolk seeing south of the Wall as their last chance at survival and then having to give away what little they own.

She has the same aspects of Perry but most of the time, she is a bossy, arrogant, and superficial female platypus who does everything in her power to crush and humiliate the other O.W.C.A. agents. She only thinks highly of herself and lowly of others as she believes that she deserves everything and takes pride in her secret agent lifestyle. While being callous and careless to anyone but herself, she could be cowardly and easily scared of danger often caused by Dr. Doofenshmirtz's inators used to take over TSA. Despite all of these traits, Female Perry can be courageous as she is willingly helpful when asked by those she is close to or admires, such as helping Perry and the rest of her siblings to defeat Doof. As Agent FemP, she is proud of her abilities and wants to prove herself to Perry that she can be a good secret agent for the O.W.C.A. As a dream demon, she does everything in her power to crush and make deals with the other agents.
